Australian Politicians Salary – What do they Really Earn?

Our Politician Pay Calculator has been used by more than 250,000 Australians keen to compare their salary to what their local member of parliament earns per year.

Through our research we learned that members of parliament can earn an additional income for taking on extra responsibilities, for example chairing a committee or becoming a government whip. The final amount an Australian politician earns is not published publicly.

Below is a comprehensive list of every member of parliament, their annual salary and any additional responsibilities they may have picked up to boost their earnings.
* Details correct as of 17th January 2017
* Salaries are estimated based on the Australian Renumeration Panel guidlines.
