About the role

We are looking for experienced, reliable, committed, compassionate, and empathetic Disability Support Workers who want to make a difference by supporting our clients to achieve their goals and to live the life they choose.

More specifically, the role involves supporting clients with everyday duties. That include helping with household chores and light domestic duties, transportation to medical appointments, recreational activities, and supporting participants with complex needs. The role may also include personal care, meal preparation, and the use of aids or equipment such as walking frames, wheelchairs, and hoists.

Skills and experience

To be considered for these exciting opportunities, you must meet the following criteria.

Essential:

  • Be available to be rostered for flexible hours/shifts, plus weekend rosters.
  • Have good oral and written communication skills
  • Have basic computer skills (ie: can use Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, etc.)
  • Current drivers license and a reliable, registered, and insured vehicle
  • Working with Vulnerable People check (Employee Registration and not volunteering)
  • National Police Check (issued less than 3 months ago) or willingness to undergo
  • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Two contactable professional references.

Desired:

  • Diploma / certification / equivalent in Community Services, Individual Support (or working towards completion)
  • Demonstrated experience working or background into Disability or Age-Care sector
  • Administer medication formal training - HLTAAP001 Recognise Healthy Body Systems and HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medication.
