Occupational Therapist - Paediatrics

We have an exciting new opportunity to join the Wellington team! We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to deliver and grow the paediatrics service in the wider region.

You will have the opportunity to work across our varied contracts with a paediatric component, as well as private referrals. You will assess and provide rehabilitation to students with a variety of injuries or disabilities, minimising barriers which may impact on their ability to engage in school and other activities. Travel throughout the region will be required and a company car is provided.

You will be able to build strong responsive relationships with children (0-16 years) and their families, work in a multidisciplinary community of care with other allied health professionals. You will also be passionate about best practice and ongoing professional development.

This role may be either full time or part time.

Essential requirements:

  • The relevant tertiary qualifications (BHSc OT)
  • Current registration with the NZ Board (e.g. OTBNZ) or able to apply for this
  • Minimum of 3 years’ post graduate experience/clinical background in paediatrics and any of the following areas: Neurology, Brain Injury, Musculoskeletal, Mental Health and Multi-Trauma, Wheelchair and Seating, Housing, Vocational Services, Concussion, Community-based Rehabilitation.
  • A full clean NZ/ Australian Driver's Licence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive "Can-Do" attitude, a willingness to learn, and a healthy sense of humour
  • Intermediate computer skills and excellent reporting skills.
