We have grown through acquisitions of like-minded, customer-focused businesses which includes, Australian Home Care (AHC). This Team Leader position is based in a Supported Independent Living service for Australian Home Care Services.

Australian Home Care (AHC) is a leading provider of community based care and Residential Services for people with a disability and the elderly. Our residential sites provide a home for people with Acquired Brain Injuries and/or Neurological Disorders in which they are supported to participle in the daily running of their home and engagement with their local communities.

The Opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic person who is committed to making a difference in people’s lives to manage our Supported Independent Living service located in Shoal Bay, which is home for five adults living with acquired brain injuries. Services are designed to support each resident in the way they want to achieve their goals and enhance and facilitate their independence in a supported environment and their community.

Reporting into the Accommodation Manager, accountabilities include:

  • Supervision and management of the direct support team.
  • Administrative duties including payroll, reporting, incident management, policy review, maintenance of client and staff documentation, WHS compliance.
  • Development and maintenance of personalised support plans for each resident, identifying goals and aspirations and how supports can be provided to achieve these, including communication to families and residents.
  • Demonstrate the principles that underpin the service & support a safe working environment via site maintenance and staff supervision.

About You

To do well in this role, you will have;

  • A disability/health qualification and relevant experience in the disability sector.
  • Previous management role and supervisory experience within a residential environment
  • Working knowledge of NDIS and Disability Legislation and quality frameworks
  • Confidence in using commonly used computer-based software
  • First Aid and CPR are required, along with clear Police Check.
