Commercial Finance Manager

A full time senior opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Finance Manager to join an expanding Group and lead a team based from their southern Gold Coast office.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Controller for the Group, this position provides leadership across all areas of the finance function for the site as well as other sites as they develop over time. The role will partner with the Group's management, providing support, advice and assistance to drive the business forward, including overseeing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting and control of inventory.

This is a key role for the business and has 3 direct reports: Business Analyst, Inventory Controller and Accounts Support. Primary objectives of this role are:

  • Partnering with senior managers to provide support, counsel and assistance on all commercial finance related matters;
  • Ensuring the accuracy and timelines of all aspects of the finance function;
  • Ensuring that inventory controls are adhered to and continually improved;
  • Providing strong and strategic leadership across commercial and finance functions

You role will include:

  • Business partnering to the senior Executive, assisting with negotiation of services and procurement contracts, product costings, records management, targeted reporting and support with business cases
  • Overseeing all aspects of the finance function for the subsidiary, supported by the BA and Accounts Administrator
  • Overseeing all aspects of inventory control, supported by an Inventory Controller
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to the team and contributing to a positive culture

What we are seeking:

  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or Business
  • CA/CPA Qualified highly regarded
  • Previous experience in a similar commercial finance management role essential
  • Food / food processing industry experience preferable
  • Strong technical accounting background and understanding of statutory reporting requirements
  • Inventory management experience
  • Strong computer literacy and experience in enterprise level accounting/ERP software and advanced level Excel spreadsheeting
  • Leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to also work effectively in a team as well as fostering change as the business requires
  • Well-developed communication and negotiation skills and a personable nature
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Self-motivated approach
