About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Mining Geologists for our new Parker Range project working an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this role will work in conjunction with the Technical Services team and hold accountability for the undertaking and supervision of daily grade control activities across the project.

What we’re after

We’re looking for someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and enjoys a challenging yet rewarding work environment. You will be responsible for;

  • Pit sampling, ore mark ups and ore spotting
  • Database management and data entry
  • Manage production and stockpile tracking from pit to port
  • EOM reporting and reconciliations
  • Maintain and foster a working environment which prompts safety in all that we do, whilst also providing outstanding service
  • Provide support to Mining Team to optimise ore extraction
  • Work closely with Technical Services team and relevant stakeholders to effectively communicate geological and grade requirements
  • Identify areas that have the potential for development and/or improvement
  • Provide mentoring to Pit Technicians

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Hold tertiary qualification in geology or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience working in an open cut mining environment, in a similar position
  • Iron ore exposure will be highly advantageous
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment or independently
  • Proficient with Surpac, Acquire and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • WA C Class Drivers Licence
