About the Company:

Cola Solar is a highly ethical and sustainable Bendigo business that has been servicing homes and businesses throughout Central Victoria for over 10 years. Now employing 40+ staff, they operate across Central Victoria working with clients from design to installation in order to develop affordable renewable energy plans. Cola Solar continue to thrive as industry leaders due to their high-quality products, professional service delivery and the positive company culture they have created.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Managing Directors, the General Manager is responsible for the success of the entire business. Key objectives include:

  • Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure profitability of the company.
  • Leadership of employees including assigning accountabilities, planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
  • Research technological and financial opportunities and, in conjunction with the Managing Directors, develop the strategic plan.
  • Ensures Approved Solar Retailer (ASR) status is maintained through strict due diligence of all company operations.
  • Drive an open culture where employees share information and feel supported to offer their opinions.
  • Ensure that all legislative requirements concerning education and training, staff development, and Equal Employment Opportunity are met.
  • Review and develop procedures, policies and practices across the company including those covering procurement, production, marketing, field and technical services.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports on sales, marketing, install completions, non-conformance issues, services calls and debtors.
  • Develop and implement effective customer focused strategies to ensure successful long-term business relationships.

About You:

You must be able to demonstrate:

  • A background in a relevant field including; renewable energy, electrical or building industry.
  • At least 3+ years of senior leadership experience with the ability to co-ordinate and oversee the operations of a compliance driven business.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate staff through effective leadership, delegation and an inclusive approach.
  • Experience with financial and commercial business management, including the development and monitoring of budgets.
  • A problem-solving and strategic mindset with outstanding organisational skills.
