About us

The Mai-Wel Group has been providing a diverse range of disability services to residents of the Hunter Valley for almost 60 years. What began as a group of local families coming together to provide education and opportunity to their children has today developed into a thriving business supporting more than 1,500 participants across seven Local Government Areas.

The role

We are seeking experienced and flexible Support Workers who are committed to achieving high quality outcomes for people with a disability to join our teams in our residential living and community outreach programs.

Selection Criteria

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

  • Experience of working within the disability sector, or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
  • Experience, or knowledge of, developing, implementing and monitoring Person Centered Plans
  • Experience in participant personal care, or a willingness to do so
  • Experience in behaviour support plans, contribution to and implementation of.
  • Experience working with clients with challenging behaviours
  • Well developed interpersonal, time management, written and verbal skills
  • Sound computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft applications such as word, excel, outlook.
  • Current Drivers License and comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Certificate IV in Disability Work or equivalent would be an advantage but is not essential
  • Able to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, overnights and weekends
