Job Description

The Workforce Partner is focused on providing ongoing support to customers and employers within the Disability Employment Services (DES) program to ensure sustainable employment and outcomes are realised. This will involve support for those who have reached their 26th week of employment; with the Workforce Partner continuing that support up to 52 weeks and beyond. The Workforce Partner devises interventions and solutions between the employee and employer, ensuring that employment is sustained.

A solid understanding of people centred case management principles including barrier management is core to continued success as well as a detailed understanding of the principles of workforce planning.

The Workforce Partner will be well versed in the National Standards for Disability Services and will create future employment opportunities for people with a disability through identifying opportunities to deliver training around workplace diversity and customised employment.

Contract Type: Permanent - Full Time

This is a key role in the process of sustaining life changing employment for those with a disability.

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build and maintain effective customer and employer relationships
  • Gain understanding of the role requirements and assess customer fit and training needs
  • Work with customer and employer to ensure smooth transition into the workplace
  • Maintain regular contact and provide on-going support with customers and employers
  • Deliver effective and timely communication and post placement care to both employers and customers
  • Record all actions within the required timeframes, ensuring all schedules are maintained regularly with documentary evidence

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in job seeker service delivery and mentoring
  • Highly developed problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to adapt style to suit audience
  • Knowledge and application of Disability Employment Services (DES) contract Deed and guidelines desirable but not essential
  • Ability to prioritise workload, use initiative and multi-task
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and reliable work style
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • High level of computer literacy
  • An open car drivers licence

Candidates with relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience within the Employment Services, Training, Rehabilitation, or Community Services or a similar type sector are highly desirable
