Our Commodities and Global Markets business is commencing a significant transformation programme to deliver the optimal operating model for continued success. It will allow the business the agility to respond quickly to new product and market opportunities in a cost-effective manner and pave the foundation for future phases of growth.

We’re keen to identify professionals who can play key roles in this transformation and bring their diverse experiences. The position of Strategy and Transformation Manager - Finance represents an opportunity for you to work across the end-to-end financial management operating model and service delivery model across all of Commodities and Global Markets business divisions, building a great base of knowledge, experience and rapport with key senior members.

As an experienced Strategy and Transformation Manager, the opportunity in our Commodities and Global Markets operating group will see you join our global transformation programme. Reporting to the Financial Management Workstream Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in optimising risk, agility and efficiency for our businesses. You will be responsible for analysis of financial management functions and processes, identifying, designing and implementing process and organisation structure realignment and improvement opportunities. You’ll work with product and platform experts as well as organisation-wide stakeholders to deliver transformational change. Previous experience and knowledge with one or more of finance target operating models, finance service delivery models and/or commodities and financial markets will be highly-regarded but not essential.

This role will be a 12 month maximum term contract. However, the opportunity to convert to full time may exist.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • gain an understanding of current state financial management processes (including interaction points across teams) and organisation structures
  • present clear and succinct analysis across a process, identifying process and organisation realignment and improvement opportunities
  • collaboratively design future state processes and/or organisation structures in line with an overall financial management strategy and design principles
  • engage senior stakeholders across Commodities and Global Markets and Financial Management Group to gain alignment and buy in on solutions
  • develop transition plans and execute transition tasks to progress from current to future state
  • the timely identification and triage of project issues and risks to the project manager.

To be able to deliver these initiatives, you need to demonstrate 4+ years’ experience working with an array of frameworks, templates and tools relevant to operating models, service delivery models, organisation design and process improvement. As this is a global business, you must have the ability to work flexibly with your global project team. The potential for short term co-location may be required.

We’re also looking for a number of attributes which include structured strategic/transformational problem solving, enabling you to break down large, complex transformations into executable steps. You have strong stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to influence the decision making of senior stakeholders across Commodities and Global Markets and the Financial Management Group. You have strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to not only build relationships but to explain complex change in simple, understandable terms. You’re driven, naturally curious and like driving change. You’re commercial, flexible and adaptable in your work approach and are able to take conceptual methodologies and frameworks and adapt and apply them to real business situations. Being able to work independently whilst co-ordinating multiple assignments is essential, as is ensuring established governance guidelines are followed.
