Reporting into the General Counsel and Company Secretary, the successful applicant is to provide advice and assistance to key stakeholders in developing, implementing and sustaining operational risk and business resilience strategies and programs throughout GPC's network of operations. In addition, you will be responsible for management of the internal audit program including development of the audit plan, engagement of auditors, audit scopes, facilitate the conduct of audits, and management of reporting and corrective actions.

In doing so you will ensure that strategic and business risks are identified and appropriately managed. You will also assist the business leaders and team members in coaching and developing skills to undertake their responsibility for risk management. These tasks need to be undertaken in a manner which is consistent with broader operational, risk management and corporate governance frameworks.

Whilst a full position description is available to those applicants meeting our client's criteria, key capability requirements include:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Relevant graduate and post graduate academic qualifications - in the area of Risk Management, Compliance, Business Management or Corporate Governance; and
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Law, Finance or Business.

Professional Experience:

  • Demonstrated senior level experience in a similar titled role;
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and guidance on matters relating to risk and compliance;
  • Solid knowledge of risk management and compliance practices and systems;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing the audit function of a large multinational operation or government enterprise; and
  • Prior exposure working within a ports / logistics or supply chain environment will be well regarded.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Self-starters;
  • Able to work well in a collaborative environment;
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products;
  • Good written and verbal skills;
  • Good problem solving and decision making skills;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a large workload while meeting required deadlines in a demanding / time critical environment;
  • Possess and maintain a strong, positive relationship with relevant internal / external stakeholders;
  • Ability to liaise and work with people at different levels across the business;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy successfully in a dynamic, challenging and competitive environment; and
  • Capacity to research and provide advice on matters as required.
