About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an enhanced mental health service for high risk youth and their families in the Eastern Region as a Youth Justice Mental health clinician. The Youth Justice Mental Health Clinician position is a specialist senior clinical role, the clinician is expected to have superior knowledge and experience of both the youth forensic sector and the mental health sector in the Eastern Metropolitan Region.

This position:

  • Will work between two different service systems
  • Is expected to produce better health outcomes for vulnerable & high risk group of young people

The successful applicant will join a very supportive, enthusiastic and experienced team providing recovery oriented, trauma informed and outreach mental health care to high risk and vulnerable young people who often require intensive support.

About you

- have excellent skills in working with youth and their families,

- be able to complete comprehensive mental health assessments, complete complex risk assessment and management plans and provide therapeutic interventions and intensive case management

- have demonstrated experience in working with broader systems of care around young people

- have demonstrated experience in high levels of collaboration between agencies
