Teppanyaki Cook/Chef



Tempest Restaurant has a front line Teppanyaki Grill vacancy for an experienced Teppanyaki Grill Cook.

Do you have Teppanyaki Grill skills that you can confidently display in front of our patrons?

Do you have at least 2 years post qualification Teppanyaki grill experience?

Main Responsibilities & Duties:

• Food preparation

• Cooking and platting up

• To wear neat and clean uniform

• To be equipped with the required equipment

• To be mindful of the food costs and keep wastage to the minimum

• To maintain hygiene in and around the kitchen

• To use various equipment carefully

• To observe quality points for poultry, meats and seafood while receiving the supplies

• To follow the main HACCP principles

• To promote and follow OH&S at work

• To avoid cross contamination and store and monitor raw food and cooked food separately to recommended temperature

• To be mindful of the danger zone and keep the food temperature outside the danger zone

• To maintain consistency of the menu items

• To properly monitor the stock rotation

• To store fresh and frozen products in the refrigerator and freezers at temperatures recommended

by the food industry

• To select the appropriate cooking method for each item

• To nicely present food by keeping in mind colour, flavour, shapes, texture, garnish and temperature of the dish

• To clean work table and equipment after completing a preparation and to make it ready for the next preparation

• To discuss portion control with the chef

• To cook dishes as per menu

• To carry out stock rotation on First in First out basis

• Prepare basic gravies for a variety of dishes

• To make side dishes, dips and entrees

Annual salary remuneration in line with the Restaurant Industry Award and market rates will be provided $54,000.00 to $57,000.00
