Due to recent and successful win of contracted services in the local Mount Isa region, we have full time opportunities available for experienced Control Room Operators to commence 1st August 2020. MSS Security will reimburse successful applicants security licenses with a return of service clause - $157.20 for 1 year (renewal) - Return of service is six months, $466.40 for 3 years (renewal) - Return of service 12 months.The successful applicant will work a 4 on 4 off roster consisting of 12 hour shifts - flat rate $34.00 per hour.

Job Description

Locally based, you will work within the permanent rotational 4 on 4 off roster and will be responsible for overseeing control room operations including monitoring CCTV, reporting and responding to alarms, access breaches and managing emergency calls.

Key activities

  • Monitor CCTV footage and action breach situations appropriately
  • Operation of computerised Security and Access Control Systems
  • Check security equipment is in working order
  • Ensure only those authorised enter restricted areas
  • Report all alarms
  • Complete daily logs
  • Maintain focus and observe the activities associated with asset protection
  • Use appropriate methods of communication (eg radio, phone, log books) to report incidents and issues
Desired Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Certificate III in Security Operations
  • Hold an Individual Class 1 Security Licence – Unarmed Security Officer including Monitoring
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in Control Room monitoring
  • Hold current Senior First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Current Queensland Drivers Licence
  • Have an intermediate level of proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills and use of radio
  • Ability to write thorough incident reports and logs (Word and Excel).
  • Ability to follow instructions and multi task during pressure situations
