A local Cairns business is seeking a motivated and independent Design Team Manager to join their busy signwriting operation.

Our client has been operating for four decades supplying professional signs and printing services to a large client base throughout Queensland and PNG. The business is a medium size operation employing 20 to 25 employees and renowned for their innovative and efficient solutions.

Over the years they have been nationally recognised for their work, receiving numerous industry awards. A strong commitment to environmental responsibilities is demonstrated by being the first company in Queensland to install printers with 100% environmentally friendly silicone inks and recyclable media.

Their success has been achieved by delivering outstanding service to their clients and the culture of their team reflects just that.

The Job

As a Design Team Manager, you are responsible for the day to the day running of the Design Team reporting to the General Manager as well as working with other departments within the business.

Key functions and Duties:

  • Create designs from client briefs, using branding guides, logos, site survey information & sketches, etc.
  • Discussing and interpreting clients’ business requirements in person (on site or off site)
  • Quotation and planning in conjunction with the Technical Manager, Production Manager and the General Manager
  • Managing the production files and coordinate with the production team and installers
  • Liaising with the suppliers to procure quotes and products and provide any information to the Finance Department
  • Managing designer working onsite as well as remotely and assisting the Marketing Coordinator
  • Maintaining full and accurate records of customer contact details in Shopvox and job details in relevant filing
  • Keeping abreast of developments in IT, particularly CorelDraw and other design programs such as the Adobe Suite and materials
