Management Accountant

A newly created opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join the finance team of an expanding Group based in the Byron Bay region.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your role will be responsible for providing financial accounting support to the business by ensuring timely and accurate statutory reporting of the Australia and New Zealand businesses to key stakeholders for enhanced decision making to meet business objectives.

The role will be highly suited to a person with a strong commercial accounting background, effective leadership skills and enjoys contributing to the success of an organisation and being rewarded for it.

Your role will cover a range of responsibilities including:

• Leading the collation of weekly financial reporting and analysis including month-end, quarter-end, and end of financial year
• Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Processing accruals and finalising month end and year end accounts
• Preparation of statutory reporting across TAD / TNZ (tax, financial statement preparation, Audit)
• Ensuring integrity in the P&L by ensuring that all journals posted are complete, accurate and substantiated
• Managing the budget and analysis reporting process
• Standardising financial reporting across the business
• Assisting with audits and managing compliance
• Implementing and improving the company's financial policies, procedures and process improvements as required

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Qualified and experienced Accountant with similar work experience
• Holding or studying towards a CPA/CA would be highly regarded
• A good business acumen with an excellent understanding of the finance function
• Expert knowledge and understanding of statutory reporting across Australia and New Zealand
• Strong reporting and financial modelling skills to deliver detailed financial management reports and assist in forecasting for growth
• Proven experience in financial / CRM packages and the Microsoft Office suite
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
• Highly effective planning and organisational skills
