The Opportunity:

Due to major growth within the business, Komatsu has three new positions on offer for a trade-qualified Plant Mechanic to become a part of the team in our Field Service Department servicing Western Australia. Working as a Field Service Technician, your role will see you carrying out maintenance and repairs on world-class mobile equipment for a wide range of customers as well as labour support for planned shuts and ensure excellent customer service. These roles will also support Projects and New Machine Deliveries on site and your role will see you delivering vital, high-quality service, repair and maintenance solutions and a great customer experience.

This position offers an immediate start within a high-performing team in this highly-established and rapidly-growing business. Electrical Wheel Loader Experience essential!

Roster: 2:1 (Perth to Tom Price)

Annualised Wage Range (Pending Availability): $200,000 (approx) + superannuation

Key responsibilities:

  • Performing services, repairs and maintenance on a range of Komatsu mobile equipment.
  • Maintaining high levels of safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Providing excellent customer service to our customers.
  • Performing machine diagnostics.
  • Testing and adjusting of machine operation and monitoring systems (utilising relevant literature and testing equipment).
  • Ability to demonstrate competencies of testing and adjusting of machine operating and monitoring systems utilising relevant literature and testing equipment.
  • Coordinating site based equipment maintenance projects (in particular, coordinating job packet requirements, following job scope and critical path).
  • Generating required technical reports (such as service reports and TSI & warranty claim processes).

The knowledge, skills and abilities we’re looking for:

  • Trade Qualification: AUR31212 - Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology.
  • An appropriate level of technical understanding of the design & function of Komatsu equipment.
  • Knowledge and previous experience of the repair and maintenance of earthmoving equipment and components.
  • A minimum of five years post trade experience in a field maintenance position.
  • Current MR classification driver's licence (minimum requirements).
  • The ability to work unsupervised and autonomously.
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety with the ability to work in remote areas and unsupervised.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good understanding of computer systems.
  • A good understanding of computer systems and Microsoft Office.
