Job Description

About the role

The Team Leader Electrical Maintenance is responsible for providing organisation and supervision of the electrical maintenance team across Wannon Water service district to ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely and effectively including:

  • Directly supervising a multi-skilled team of employees and contractors while providing coaching and mentoring support to achieve team performance goals/KPIs
  • Ensuring all resources are coordinated effectively to manage planning and scheduling maintenance priorities and optimisation of works
  • Supporting and assisting with the development and implementation of maintenance programs consistent with good asset management practice and the needs of Wannon Water

Key responsibilities and duties

  • Ability to coach and develop others, monitor and measure performance and provide direct feedback
  • Lead the electrical maintenance team in the efficient delivery of planned and unplanned maintenance activities
  • Support and coordinate effective planning and scheduling processes implemented for the efficient delivery of electrical services
  • Champion a safety culture mindset for the team and develop, authorise and implement safe work methodologies to manage hazards and potential risks
  • Ensure legislative compliance is maintained for electrical works (including certificates of electrical safety and the like) carried out on Wannon Water assets
  • Support the Manager Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance to maintain and update electrical service standards and preferred equipment lists
  • Support the Manager Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance to update the electrical service improvement plans annually
  • Support the Manager Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance with monitoring and correct allocation of allocated operational budgets, and the development of annual operational budgets and investment plan budgets where required
  • Assist the Manager Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance with strategic planning of electrical and SCADA services at Wannon Water
Desired Skills and Experience

About you and your skills

To be considered for this role you will have to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Essential

  • Trade qualifications as a registered A Grade Electrician
  • Minimum five years’ proven experience in leading, coaching and mentoring a multi-skilled team with project experience
  • Experience with troubleshooting of VSDs, soft–starters, motors, PLCs, RTUs and SCADA radios and other industrial electrical devices
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships, communicate and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders
  • Ability to identify and introduce improvements in maintenance practices and plant performance
  • Proven skills in the areas of attention to detail, information processing and problem solving with the ability to multi-task
  • Self-driven and motivated with sound technical skills and the ability to practically implement theoretical initiatives and ideas
  • Effective communication, negotiation and supervisory skills
  • Current valid Australian driver’s licence
  • Evidence of current COVID-19 vaccination is to be provided

Desirable

  • Certificate in Electronics
  • PLC or RTU formal qualifications
  • Certificate IV – Industrial Electronics
  • Sound understanding and experience in using work management systems for the delivery of daily work and maintenance programs

This is a full-time ongoing position, located in Warrnambool. With a competitive salary commensurate to experience, starting at $92,818.39 p.a. plus superannuation.
